
UNDERSTANDING THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE CHILD - BECE-CD 2-OV II-BECED 2S-ECED10(T/F 04:30PM-06:30PM/04:30PM-06:30PM)
This course develops students' understanding of the social environment (historical, geographical and cultural) of the children to help them make sense of the world in the context of family, school and community anchored on the Urie Bronfenbrenner's ecological framework. It examines the nature and the scope of family-school-community partnerships including interdisciplinary relationships and their impact on learning and development of young children. In the end, students are expected to plan, implement and assess collaborative partnership among stakeholders.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM MODELS - BECE-CD 2-OV II-BECED 2S-ECED06(M/TH 04:30PM-06:30PM/04:30PM-06:30PM)
This course focuses on the principles in planning and developing developmentally - appropriate and child - centered curriculum. The course includes a thorough discussion of different curriculum models and program approaches for early childhood education.

TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING 1 - BECE-CD 2-OV II-BECED 2PROFED09(M/TH 12:30PM-02:30PM/12:30PM-02:30PM)
The course covers principles, theories, and practices on integration of technology in education. Through lecture - demonstration, researches, individual and group activities, the pre-service teachers will be provided with opportunities to utilize appropriate traditional, emerging and innovative technologies in learning lessons, teaching - learning experiences and assessment tasks with social, ethical and legal responsibility. In the end, the pre-service teachers will design, use and evaluate technology-enhanced lessons.
